The value of 'functionality' itself in applications continues to decline relatively due to advancements in AI. However, the reason SaaS is sought is not to provide functionality, but to 'take responsibility'.

By managing and accumulating important customer data, continually dealing with technical debt, ensuring that services never stop, and taking responsibility in case of emergencies. People use SaaS precisely because they do not want to take on these responsibilities themselves.

With AI, it will become possible to develop necessary functionalities in-house. Many services can frankly be created by anyone if they put in the effort. However, one cannot escape the responsibilities that come after creating something.

What happens if a data leak occurs? Who will take responsibility if the server goes down?

AI cannot take responsibility. The person who created and provided the service is responsible.

This fact is, in my opinion, the reason why SaaS will continue to be necessary in the future.
